Jack Allan is the 22 year old founder of 95 Social, an Edinburgh based start up encouraging Scotland’s small businesses to think differently about social media. Jack believes in demonstrating a business’ personality and the use of simple yet well thought through content to engage and maintain an audiences’ attention on social media.
As a student, Allan became tired of the theoretical side of a traditional British university education and actively sought practical business experiences for himself, learning something new each time. Working alongside fellow students, he quickly identified the depth of talent that can be found on the UK’s university campuses and set about creating the business plan for what would ultimately morph into 95 Social in its current form.
Following spells working with both small and large organisations in Hong Kong, Malaysia and at home in Scotland alongside his studies, Jack launched 95 Social to educate and assist small business owners across the UK in the intricacies of Social Media marketing in 2017. Where other social agencies use a large team of marketing veterans, 95 Social aim to utilise the creativity of social media native students to deliver their clients’ messages. A recent Heriot Watt graduate himself, Jack is a strong advocate of students gaining practical real life experience as opposed to the theoretical education that University offers.
Despite being in its infancy, 95 Social is already working with a number of clients predominantly based in Edinburgh. Jack holds the belief that Social Media is and will increasingly be the most important aspect of small business marketing. With an understanding of how each of the major social media platforms work and the way in which audiences react to specific types of content, Jack is able to assess and implement quality social media strategies on modest marketing budget.
